At Polkadots we go above and beyond what’s required by the Early Years Foundation Curriculum. To help our children learn and grow, we bring in specialist yoga and dance teachers to offer weekly classes in both our nurseries.
To make this possible we ask for a small payment of £2 per week for each child receiving government funding

Meet our Instructors…
Emily began dancing at the age of three in her local ballet school in Northern Ireland, studying RAD ballet whilst also joining commercial and contemporary classes.
At the age of 18, she moved to London to study a degree in Ballet Education at the Royal Academy of Dance. Here her training included classes in ballet and contemporary with a particular focus on teaching practise – in addition to this Emily pursued her interest in many other styles of dance such as jazz and commercial whilst studying in London.
Alongside her studies, Emily worked and taught in various dance schools across London and Surrey including part time work with various teachers at the RAD Dance School. After graduating in 2020 Emily began teaching dance full time in a variety of private dance schools and nursery’s across London and Surrey.
“I began practising yoga in 2012 to improve my flexibility. I shortly realised that it not only had physical benefits but mental too. I deepened my personal practice, practising different styles under many different teachers, before becoming a teacher myself in 2017 in the style of Vinyasa.
Outside of yoga I live a busy and active life which can leave me feeling at times tired, burned out, short fused, and/or snappy, and it is in times like these when yoga helps me. It helps me to slow down and breathe. To connect to my body and to the moment, and realise that all negative feelings and emotions shall pass.
These are the techniques that I wish I had learnt earlier in life, and its these kind of techniques that I want to teach the children to help them blossom and grow into healthy, stable and connected beings. The children are the future so let’s invest in them from now.”
